No more xp!

So i have decided to try out a far different system for level advancement.  we are going to forgo xp in favor of a constant party level for each character.  xp "bonuses" will still be available to cast spells with and craft.  These points may also be used to "aquire" items and the like between sessions assuming that they meet my approval (and the storyline permits).  I am currently working out the details of how much certain people should have as a bonus... but sufice it to say that where your xp was relative to the "new character" xp should be a rough indication.   Bearing that in mind, you might want to provide a *short* wishlist of items (masterwork or magical), equipment, and other special things (for example i might allow a cohort to start with some equipment purchased from that fund).  No list will just mean that i might have to delay your godies slightly.  Bear in mind that this is in addition to an already treasure rich game.  The main issue in this module (especially as i have adjusted it) is a lack of a place to resonably exchange one item for another (scrolls and potions aside).  Because of this i mainly intend this to provide acess to mainline class tool items (magic double scimitar if needed since god knows they do not appear in many modules, or a relic if you intend to use the true believer feat).

On the subject of rewards, every character should have the toughness feat for surviving the moahouse adventure.  This feat will not apply to newly created characters at this time.  Each major story arc will have a similar feat associated with it.  I am considering the possibility of allowing "extra credit" type storys/extended backgrounds and the like to allow a new character to aquire a missed bonus, but that will have to be discussed at the time.

Ok, It has been some time.

Ok, It has been some time.  At this point, I would like to start preparing for the temple game's mighty comeback!  As some of you might recall, I have stopped using XP in the traditional fashion.  At this point all characters should be fifth level.  I will be instituting an XP reserve.  These points may be used for spells with an XP component, LA buyoff, or crafting.  In the case of crafting, a character lacking the correct crafting feats may either use cooperative crafting, or the new "found item" rule hinted at above.  When using found item crafting, the item must be approved, and the cost in xp is normal, though the GP cost is calculated as one per 5 gp required to craft the item normally.  New characters will begin with 1500XP in their pool in addition to the modified starting gold for the temple game (average starting gold X 15), while existing characters will be assigned more at a later date.
